All is fair in love and war

Quotes/Scenes that should have been included in the Harry Potter Movies | The rest of the “Let’s go to the Lovegood’s” scene

“I think we should vote on it,” said Ron. “Those in favor of going to see Lovegood –”His hand flew into the air before Hermione’s. Her lips quivered suspiciously as she raised her own. “Outvoted, Harry, sorry,” said Ron, clapping him on the back. “Fine,” said Harry, half amused, half irritated. “Only, once we’ve seen Lovegood, let’s try and look for some more Horcruxes, shall we? Where do the Lovegood’s live, anyway? Do either of you know? “Yeah, they’re not far from my place,” said Ron. “I dunno exactly where, but Mum and Dad always point toward the hills whenever they mention them. Shouldn’t be hard to find.” When Hermione had returned to her bunk, Harry lowered his voice. “You only agreed to try and get back in her good books.” “All’s fair in love and war,” said Ron brightly, “and this is a bit of both. Cheer up, it’s the Christmas holidays, Luna’ll be home!”

Quotes/Scenes that should have been included in the Harry Potter movies | Harry and Ron after he destroyed the Horcrux

"After you left," he said in a low voice, grateful for the fact that Ron’s face was hidden, "she cried for a week. Probably longer, only she didn’t want me to see. There were loads of nights when we never even spoke to each other. With you gone…"

He could not finish; it was now that Ron was here again that Harry fully realized how much his absence had cost them.

Quotes/Scenes that should have been included in the Harry Potter movies | Harry breaking up with Ginny

She did not cry, she simply looked at him.

'Voldemort uses people his enemies are close to. He's already used you as bait once, and that was just because you're my best friend's sister. Think how much danger you'll be in if we keep this up. He'll know, he'll find out. He'll try and get to me through you.'

'What if I don't care?' said Ginny fiercely.

'I care,' said Harry. 'How do you think I'd feel if this was your funeral … and it was my fault…'

She looked away from him, over the lake.

'I never really gave up on you,' she said. 'Not really. I always hoped … Hermione told me to get on with life, maybe go out with some other people, relax a bit around you, because I never used to be able to talk if you were in the room, remember? And she thought you might take a bit more notice if I was a bit more - myself.'

'Smart girl, that Hermione,' said Harry, trying to smile. 'I just wish I'd asked you sooner. We could've had ages… months… years maybe…'

'But you've been too busy saving the wizarding world,' said Ginny, half-laughing. 'Well… I can't say I'm surprised. I knew this would happen in the end. I knew you wouldn't be happy unless you were hunting Voldemort. Maybe that's why I like you so much.'

"I couldn’t think what to get you," she said.

"You didn’t have to get me anything."

She disregarded this too.

"I didn’t know what would be useful. Nothing too big, because you wouldn’t be able to take it with you."

He chanced a glance at her. She was not tearful; that was one of the many wonderful things about Ginny, she was rarely weepy. He had sometimes thought that having six brothers must have toughened her up.

She took a step closer to him.

"So then I thought, I’d like you to have something to remember me by, you know, if you meet some veela when you’re off doing whatever you’re doing."

"I think dating opportunities are going to be pretty thin on the ground, to be honest."

"There’s the silver lining I’ve been looking for," she whispered, and then she was

kissing him as she had never kissed him before, and Harry was kissing her back, and it was blissful oblivion better than firewhisky; she was the only real thing in the world, Ginny, the feel of her, one hand at her back and one in her long, sweet-smelling hair—

Quotes/Scenes that should have been included in the Harry Potter movies | Harry being confronted by Hermione, Ginny and Ron in “Order of the Phoenix”

'Very funny,' snapped Harry, turning away.

'Oh, stop feeling all misunderstood,' said Hermione sharply. 'Look, the others have told me what you overheard last night on the Extendable Ears — ‘

'Yeah?' growled Harry, his hands deep in his pockets as he watched the snow now falling thickly outside. ‘All been talking about me, have you? Well, I’m getting used to it.’

'We wanted to talk to you, Harry’ said Ginny, ‘but as you’ve been hiding ever since we got back — ‘

'I didn't want anyone to talk to me,' said Harry, who was feeling more and more

'Well, that was a bit stupid of you,' said Ginny angrily, 'seeing as you don't

know anyone but me who’s been possessed by You-Know-Who, and I can tell you how it

Harry remained quite still as the impact of these words hit him. Then he wheeled round.

'I forgot,' he said.

'Lucky you,' said Ginny coolly.

'I’m sorry,' he said, and he meant it.

*I meant “possessed”, sorry.

Quotes/Scenes that should have been included in the Harry Potter movies | Harry and Ginny eating chocolate at the library

Harry looked at her. Perhaps it was the effect of the chocolate — ‘- Lupin had always advised eating some after encounters with Dementors — or simply because he had finally spoken aloud the wish that had been burning inside him for a week, but he felt a bit more hopeful.
